Prakash Leather Garments

Our workshop, Prakash Leather Garments, is situated at I-100 in Shashtri Nagar, specifically near Kuti Chopla. If you know the area, you know Kuti Chopla is always buzzing with people and vehicles. Being at I-100 puts us right in the thick of it. The smell of leather is pretty much constant inside our walls, which is something you just get used to after the first week. We have been here for a long time. The space is filled with heavy sewing machines and large tables where we lay out the hides. It is not a quiet place because of the noise from the machines and the street traffic right outside the door. Prakash Leather Garments is a name that people in Shashtri Nagar have seen for years. We do not have a fancy website or a marketing person to help us. We just have a sign and our reputation for showing up every day. The floor is often covered in small scraps of leather and thread. We sweep it up at the end of the day, but by noon the next day, it looks the same again. It is a hard-working environment. We keep the fans on high to move the air around. Our neighbors are also in trade, so there is a lot of back and forth between the shops. We take our tea breaks together when things are slow. It is a simple, honest way to earn a living at I-100. We do not ask for much more.
