Plaza Battery

We are set up over at Plot E4 near the New Arya Nagar Chowk on Meerut Road. If you know this part of town, you know it is where all the heavy traffic pulls through when heading out of the city. Plaza Battery is basically a big room full of batteries of every size you can think of. They are heavy things, so there is a lot of lifting and carrying involved every single day. My back usually starts aching by the time five o'clock rolls around. It smells like plastic and battery acid in here, which is something you just get used to after a few weeks on the job. We spend most of our time testing voltages and cleaning up terminals that have become corroded. It is messy work and the floors often get stained with dark marks. We do not have any fancy displays or bright lights, just stacks of black and grey boxes piled on the shelves. When the power goes out in the neighborhood, we get a lot of people coming in at once looking for backups. That is when the shop gets really hectic and loud. We just try to help them out as fast as we can so they can get back to their homes. The noise from Meerut Road never really stops, so we have to talk quite loud to be heard. It is just a practical business. We do not do much besides batteries and chargers because that is what we know.
