Merit Jobs

You can find Merit Jobs over at 5th Navyug Market. It is a busy spot and the stairs up to the office are a bit steep if you are not used to them. We spend most of our time looking at resumes and talking to people who are looking for a break. The phones ring quite a bit and there is usually someone waiting in the plastic chairs near the door. It is a small office and the walls are covered in calendars and old notes pinned up everywhere. We don't really do the big corporate recruitment thing. It is more about talking to people and seeing where they might fit. Some days are slow and we just sit around drinking tea and checking the local papers. Other days it is a total mess with people coming in and out and the printer jamming every five minutes. We try to keep things simple. We know how hard it is to find decent work these days so we just do what we can from this little room in Navyug Market. Most of us grew up around here so we know the local shops and businesses pretty well. It’s not a high-pressure environment, just a place where we try to help people get a foot in the door somewhere. It is honest work and it keeps us connected to the community. We just take it one candidate at a time.
