Narayana Institute Of English Speaking

You can find us on the first floor at Shaktikhand Number 4 in Indirapuram. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, especially when it’s hot outside and the air is heavy. The institute is basically just a couple of rooms where we sit and talk. We do English speaking, so it’s mostly about getting people to feel comfortable opening their mouths and trying out new words. We don't have any of those expensive language labs with headsets. It’s just chairs in a circle and a lot of conversation. The traffic in Indirapuram can be quite bad, so students are often a few minutes late, but we don't mind too much. It’s a relaxed kind of place. We have a small teapot in the corner that we use when we have a quick break. The walls have a few posters of maps and common verbs, but that’s about it for decoration. We just focus on the basics of communication. It’s a very local operation and we know most of the people who live in the surrounding blocks. Some of our students are looking for better jobs and some just want to understand the movies better. We just spend our evenings here, talking and listening and trying to help people get their points across. It’s a simple way to run a school, without any big corporate rules or fancy programs.
