Mansa Color Lab

Mansa Color Lab is located at 69 Ambedkar Road. It is a busy street, and we have been here long enough to see a lot of changes in the neighborhood. Our shop is a bit of a mix between the old days of film and the new digital stuff. We have big printers in the back that hum all day long. The front of the shop has some frames and samples of photos we have printed over the years. It is not a very large space, and it can feel a bit crowded when a few customers come in at once. We handle a lot of different things, like passport photos or big family portraits that people want to hang on their walls. We don't have any corporate slogans or a fancy mission. We just try to make sure the colors look right before we give the photos back. Sometimes the chemicals for the older machines have a strong smell, but we don't mind it much. It is just part of the job. We spend a lot of our time sitting at the computers now, editing out red eyes or fixing the lighting on a picture. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to run the equipment. It is a nice way to meet people from the local community. Everyone has a story behind the photos they bring in, and we like being a small part of that. It keeps us connected to the folks on Ambedkar Road.
