Magik Leathers

Our place is tucked away in the Mohan Nagar Industrial Area, specifically at Site-2. If you know the area, it’s mostly factories and warehouses. We handle a lot of leather here. The smell is the first thing you notice when you walk into the building at 7/1. It’s a strong, earthy scent that sticks to your clothes. We’ve been at this for some time. There’s a lot of noise from the nearby units, but we’re used to it. Most of our day is spent inspecting hides or watching the cutting tables. Leather isn't easy to work with because every piece is different. You have to look for marks and scratches. It’s honest work, even if it’s a bit messy and dusty. The floor is usually covered in small scraps. We don’t have a big fancy showroom, just the industrial space where the actual work happens. Sometimes the heat in Mohan Nagar gets a bit intense in the summer months, but we keep the fans going. The machines we use are quite old but they still work better than the newer ones we tried once. We have a small corner where we keep the finished goods wrapped in plastic to keep the dust off. It’s not a perfect system, but it works for us. Usually, we have a quick lunch together in the back room before getting back to the hides. It’s a busy life in an industrial zone, but we like the pace of it. Everyone here knows their job and we just get on with it.
