Working in a fruit mandi means our day starts when it is still dark outside, usually around three or four in the morning. It is a very loud and chaotic environment, with trucks coming in from all over and people shouting out prices. We deal with all types of fruits, depending on the season. It is a lot of heavy lifting, moving wooden crates and checking that the fruit hasn't been bruised during transport. The ground is always covered in bits of straw and old boxes, and there is a constant buzz of activity. We aren't a high-end store with air conditioning. This is a wholesale market where things move very fast and people are just trying to get their business done. We have built up a lot of regular customers over the years who trust us to have what they need every morning. Karawal Nagar Road is always busy and can be quite dusty, but that is just how it is in this part of Loni. We don't have any big mission statements or marketing slogans.
