Jain Footwear

Down here at Jain Footwear, things stay pretty busy because of where we are on the G.T. Road. Being in Gupta Market means there is always a lot of noise from the traffic outside. It’s a good spot though. We have been selling shoes and sandals to people traveling through or living nearby for quite some time now. The shop isn't very big, so we have to stack the boxes all the way to the ceiling. It can be a bit of a reach sometimes. I keep a small stool handy for that. The Delhi Sharanpur Road always has trucks and buses going by, so there’s a lot of life on the street. We get all sorts of customers. Some are in a hurry, others want to chat for twenty minutes about the weather before they even look at a pair of flip-flops. It’s just the two of us working here most of the day. We don't have a fancy computer system or anything, just a notebook where I write things down. Sometimes the tea man forgets our order, but usually, it's a quiet enough routine. We just try to have enough stock so people find what fits. It’s a plain shop with a glass front that gets handprints on it every single day. I wipe it down every morning before we open up. That’s just how the day starts for us here at the market.
