Indica Batteries

We’ve been running Indica Batteries over at Old Gandhi Nagar for a good many years. Our shop is number 15, right near the Old Bus Stand, so it’s a very busy area with people coming and going constantly. Selling batteries is heavy work, and our floor is scratched up from moving the big units around. It’s not a place for sitting and relaxing because there is always something to lift or load into a rickshaw. The walls are lined with black casings and we always have that faint smell of acid and lead in the air, which you just get used to after a while. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just a calendar and some old receipts poked onto a wire. Most of our customers are people who have known us for a long time. They come to us because they know we are always here at our spot by the bus stand. The traffic can be a nightmare sometimes, especially in the evenings, but it means there are always people around. We use a small trolley to move the heavier batteries because my back isn't what it used to be. We just keep things simple and honest here. If a battery is dead, we tell you, and if it just needs a charge, we do that too. It’s a straightforward business in a busy part of town.
