If you come down to Gandhi Nagar in the New Arya Nagar area, you will find us at Industrial Area C/8. It’s a typical mechanic’s spot with plenty of oil stains on the concrete and old engines sitting in the corners. We spend our days under the hoods of cars or lying on those little creepers on the ground. The air usually smells like petrol and exhaust fumes. It’s a noisy street with plenty of traffic, which keeps us busy most of the time. We have a few basic lifts and a lot of hand tools that have seen better days but still get the job done. People bring their vehicles in when they hear a weird noise or when something finally stops working. We don't have a lounge for people to wait in, so most folks just hang around the entrance or come back later. The shed gets pretty hot in the summer, so we keep the big fans running all day long. We aren't big on talking much; we just listen to what the customer says and then get to work on the metal. There is always a pile of old tires out back and some spare parts that might come in handy one day. We have been in this part of Gandhi Nagar for a long time and we know the cars around here pretty well. There's usually a stray cat that hangs around for scraps of lunch. Sometimes we stay until late evening to finish a gearbox or an engine job that turned out to be harder than it looked at first.
