We have our shop at B-76/2 right in the main market of Garima Garden. Sahibabad is always full of energy and the market is the center of it all. Our business is focused on cosmetics and gift items. It is a small place, so we have to use every inch of the walls to display what we have. The main market is quite loud with the sound of traffic and people talking, but we have gotten used to it over the years. Mornings are spent checking the stock and seeing what needs to be reordered. Cosmetics can be tricky because there are so many small items to keep track of. Fancy computer systems aren't used for this. We just use our eyes and a notebook. The shop gets a bit dusty because of the road right outside, so we are always wiping down the glass counters. That is just the way things are in this part of Sahibabad. We know the other shop owners on this block and we often share a cup of tea when it is quiet. Big chain stores aren't what we are trying to be. We are just a local gallery where people can pick up something for a party or some basic makeup. We show up, open the doors, and work until it is time to go home. The market usually stays busy until very late at night, so we stay until the crowds thin out.
