Kumar Jewellers

Our little shop is Kumar Jewellers and you can find us at D-38 in Govind Puram, right at Shop Number 2. It is not a massive store like the ones you see in the big malls, but we like it that way. We spend most of our time at the counter, talking to people who live nearby. A lot of folks come in just to get a chain fixed or to ask about the price of gold that day. We have a small workbench in the back where the real work happens, with tiny tools and a magnifying glass that has seen better days. The lighting inside is bright so we can see what we are doing with the small stones and metals. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once, but everyone just waits their turn and chats. We have seen kids grow up in this neighborhood and now they bring their own families in. It is just a regular business, nothing too flashy. We keep the glass cases clean and try to make sure everything is tucked away safe at night. My father started working with jewelry a long time ago and I just kept it going here. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until we pull the shutters down in the evening. No fancy marketing, just the sign out front and word of mouth.
