Our company, Ess Gulliver Ladders Manufacturing Company Private Limited, operates out of the Noida Special Economic Zone. Specifically, we are in Unit 6 of the Trading Block. Being in the SEZ means there are a lot of rules and gates to go through, but it’s a good place for a manufacturing setup. We spend our days focused on the production of different types of ladders. It’s a bit more of an industrial operation than a small local shop. We have machines for cutting and shaping the materials and a dedicated space for putting everything together. Even though we’re a private limited company, we still feel like a close-knit group of workers. Many of the staff have been here since we moved into this unit. We make a lot of ladders that end up in warehouses or on big construction projects. The factory floor is always moving, with materials coming in one end and finished ladders being loaded onto trucks at the other. We don't have a retail counter where you can just buy one ladder, as we mostly deal with larger orders and industrial clients. It can get pretty loud during the middle of the shift when all the presses are going. We just focus on keeping the quality steady and making sure our orders go out on time. It’s hard work, but we’re used to the pace of the zone by now and just keep moving forward.
