Digvijay Motors is situated in Patel Nagar 1, at J-272. If you come by, you’ll probably see a couple of cars parked out front in various states of being fixed. The workshop has that smell of engine oil and old tires that stays with you even after you go home. We have a lot of tools scattered across the benches, and there is always a bit of grease on the floor no matter how much we scrub it. It’s a hands-on kind of place. We spend our time looking under hoods and trying to figure out why something is making a knocking sound. Most of our customers have been coming to us for years, so they just drop their keys off and tell us to take a look whenever we have a spare moment. We don't have a waiting room with a TV or anything like that; people usually just stand around and chat while we work or sit on a plastic stool nearby. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for a part to arrive from the city, which can be annoying, but that’s just how the motor business is. It’s hard work and your hands are always dirty, but it feels good when an engine finally starts up smoothly after you’ve been working on it all afternoon. We just keep our heads down and get the repairs done one car at a time.
