Dairy

Our dairy is located at Shop No 140 in D Block, right at Plot No 1 in Kondli. It is a simple place where we sell milk and other dairy items every day. The mornings are always the busiest time for us. People come in early before work to get their packets of milk or a bit of curd for lunch. We have to be here before the sun comes up to receive the deliveries. It is a bit cold in the winters standing on the stone floor, but you get used to it. The shop is not very big, just enough space for the refrigerators and a small counter. We do not have any big signs or advertisements. People in Kondli just know where Shop 140 is. Sometimes we run out of stuff by midday if it has been a busy morning. We try to keep the place clean, but with milk crates moving in and out, there is always something to wipe down. It is just a regular life here. We see the same kids growing up over the years as they come in with their parents. We don't do anything special, just provide what the neighborhood needs. It is hard work staying open seven days a week, but that is what running a dairy in D Block is like. We are just glad to be here and part of the daily routine. The cooling units hum all day long, and it is a sound we have grown to love.
