Baluja Footwear is located at 573 Turab Nagar. If you’ve ever been to Turab Nagar, you know how tight the streets are and how many people are always moving around. Our shop is right in the middle of all that chaos. We’ve been here a long time, and the walls show it. The plaster is a bit uneven in the back where we keep the extra stock. It’s a small space, so we have to be clever about where we put everything. We have shoes hanging from hooks and stacked on every available surface. It’s a bit of a workout just reaching for the stuff on the top racks. The market atmosphere is loud and energetic, and we usually have the door wide open. We keep a clay pot of water in the corner for when it gets hot. Customers come in sweaty from the walk, and they usually want something light and breathable. We don't have any fancy marketing or posters. We just have the shoes and ourselves. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use flashlights to show people the different colors of leather. It’s just part of life in Turab Nagar. We enjoy the talk and the bargaining that happens every day. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we’re happy to be part of the local scene. We've got an old radio that plays local news most of the afternoon while we wait for the evening rush.
