Ayaz Traders

Our place is actually up on the sixth floor of a block right on the main Hapur Road in Harsaoon. It is Flat Number 603, so we spend a fair bit of time waiting for the lift or just walking up the stairs when the power is acting up. From the window, you can see the traffic crawling along Hapur Road all day long. It is a busy trading business we have going here, mostly dealing with paperwork, phone calls, and coordinating where the goods need to go next. The office is pretty simple, just a few chairs, a couple of old desks, and piles of invoices that seem to grow every week. We don't get many walk-in customers because we are so high up, but the phone never seems to stop ringing. My cousin Ayaz handles most of the big suppliers while I try to keep track of the deliveries and make sure the accounts are somewhat balanced. Sometimes it gets a bit lonely up here away from the street level, so we usually go down to the chai stall at the bottom of the building for a break in the afternoon. The walls are a plain off-white and there's a calendar from three years ago still hanging behind the door because nobody bothered to take it down. It is not a glamorous setup, but it works for what we do and we manage to get through the day without too much trouble.
