Agrawal Kirana Store

Our shop, Agrawal Kirana Store, sits right near the ICICI ATM in DLF Bhopura. Being in Sahibabad, we get a lot of people coming in from the nearby apartments. It is a decent-sized space at D1-10-2A. We stock mostly kitchen staples like pulses, grains, and spices. You can also find cleaning stuff and some snacks for the kids like chips and those small chocolates. It is a family thing, we've been doing this for a while now. The floor is made of old stone and stays cool even when it is hot outside. We have a lot of regulars who live in the colony. They usually come in with a long list written on a piece of paper or sometimes on their phone. We try to fill the bags quickly, but sometimes we have to wait for a new sack of sugar to be opened from the back. The shelves are a bit mismatched because we added them one by one over the years as we needed more space. We keep the sacks of rice near the front so they are easy to move. There is always a bit of chatter going on between us and the customers. It is nice to hear about what is happening in the neighborhood. The traffic on the road outside can be a bit much, but it's quiet inside the store most of the time. We don't spend money on fancy decorations. We just want to make sure we have the essentials like salt, oil, and tea leaves. It’s a simple way to make a living here in Ghaziabad.
