Agrahari Kirana & General Stores

This is Agrahari Kirana & General Stores, and we are located at Prahladpur MB Road F-16. It is a very busy road, so there is always a lot of noise and smoke from the buses. The shop is tucked into a corner of the building. We have everything from washing powder to small toys for kids. I try to keep the shelves organized, but it’s hard when space is so tight. F-16 is a good location because people passing by on MB Road often stop for a quick bottle of water or some biscuits. I’ve been working here since I was a young man. The floor is made of old grey stone and it’s worn down in the spots where people stand the most. I usually have the radio playing some old songs in the background. It keeps me company when the shop is empty. Dealing with the distributors is the hardest part because they always arrive when I’m busy with a customer. I have to check every item in the crates to make sure nothing is broken. Sometimes the electricity goes out and it gets a bit dark inside, but I know where everything is by heart. I don't think I'll ever move from here. It’s a bit dusty and cramped, but it’s home to me. My neighbors are good people and they help me out if I need to step away for a minute or two.
