Badrinath Spun Pipes

Our yard is out in Sathelliguda, right near the Nalla Narasimha Reddy College. If you’re driving past, you’ll see the stacks of concrete pipes from the road. We’re located at Survey No 707. It’s a dusty place, honestly. Between the cement and the trucks coming in and out, there’s always something to clean. We make different sizes of spun pipes here. Some are small, others are big enough for a person to crawl through. We spend most of the day moving things with the crane. It gets loud. The college kids walk past sometimes on their way to the main road. My brother and I started this unit about ten years ago when the area was mostly empty fields. Now there are buildings popping up everywhere. We supply pipes for drainage and culverts to various sites around the city. It’s hard work, especially in the summer heat. We keep a big water cooler in the shed for the guys. There’s no fancy office, just a small cabin with a desk and a couple of chairs for paperwork. Most of our time is spent out on the floor making sure the molds are set right. If the mix isn't perfect, the pipe won't hold, so we have to watch it. It’s just how we earn a living. Nothing too special about it. We have a stray dog that hangs around the entrance, and we give him scraps from our lunch. It's just part of the daily routine here.
