Over at 1 Lakhankhera in Ghatampur, Pasikhera Farmer Producer Company Limited handles local farm work. We operate from Arun Kumar’s place. It’s a local operation for the farmers around here. Ghatampur is our main area. We don't have a big corporate setup. It is just a house where we meet to talk about the fields and the crops. Arun Kumar helps keep things organized. We deal with everything from getting the right fertilizer to finding a truck for the harvest. The village of Lakhankhera is a quiet place most of the year. But when it's time to sow or reap, it gets very busy. We are all neighbors. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. It’s just farming. Sometimes we sit outside and discuss the rain. If the monsoon is late, we have a lot to talk about. We try to help the smaller farmers in Pasikhera get a fair shake. It's tough work and the hours are long. We are usually up before the sun. The office is just a room with some chairs and a lot of registers. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know where to find us. It’s about being part of the community here in Ghatampur. Ghatampur is where we belong, and farming is what we know and do.
