Shishu Care Clinic

Shishu Care Clinic is located in Gewalbigha, right near the Sai Temple. You can usually hear the bells from the temple during the day. It’s a small place where we look after the local kids. The waiting room has some colorful drawings on the walls that some of the children made for us. They’re taped up with old scotch tape. The space is a bit tight, especially when parents bring in strollers or have a few kids with them. We have a small desk where we check people in. It’s often covered in papers and toys that kids have left behind. Gewalbigha is a lively area, and being near the temple means there are always people around. Our clinic isn't anything fancy. We have a couple of exam tables and some basic scales to weigh the babies. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use flashlights for a bit until the generator kicks in. It’s just a normal part of working here. The doctor is patient with the little ones, even when they’re screaming. We try to keep things calm, but with kids, that’s not always possible. It’s a good little spot for the families in this part of town. We just open up every day and see who comes through the door. Usually, we are here until late evening finishing up the files and making sure everything is ready for the next morning.
