Our small office is located at Dhirendra Kumar’s place in Tikuna, right here in Bodhgaya. If you know the area, it’s not too far from the main spots people usually visit. We handle building work mostly around this part of the region. It’s a busy place with all the travelers coming through, but we stay focused on the actual construction tasks that need doing. It started out quite small, just a few of us trying to figure out the best way to get materials delivered on time. The roads can get crowded, so that’s always a bit of a headache. We spend most of our hours on the sites, checking on the bricks and the cement. It’s honest work and it keeps us occupied from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we have to work Sundays too if a deadline is coming up fast. We don't have a big corporate setup or anything like that. It is just a workspace where we keep our records and meet with the crew. Being in Tikuna means we are close to the people we work for. We see our neighbors every day. When someone needs a wall put up or a roof fixed, they usually just walk over. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we really have to for the registrations. Mostly, our hands are busy with the actual labor of building things. It’s just how we operate. We’ve been doing it this way for a while now.
