Pratap Lane is not the widest street in the world, but it definitely has a lot of life in it. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long. My setup is very simple. I have a wooden desk, some old shelves for my files, and a few chairs for anyone who needs to sit down. I do not believe in spending money on fancy decorations that do not help me do my work better. Gaya is a place with so much history, and working here makes me feel like I am part of something very steady. We do not have a corporate mission statement. We just try to be reliable people. If I tell someone I will do something, I make sure it gets done. That is how I was taught to work. The building is a little bit old, but it stays cool enough in the summer, which is very important in this part of Bihar. I usually start my day early before the heat gets too bad. By the afternoon, the lane is busy with people. I like being right in the middle of the local life.
