In the Punjabi Colony area of Gaya, we have our New Godown which is where Landmark Group does most of its work. Bihar can be quite hot and dusty, and our location is no different. The godown is a large, open space with high ceilings and plenty of room for storage. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find a fancy office or air conditioning. We have a small desk near the main entrance where we keep the ledger books and track what comes in and goes out. Usually, there are a few trucks parked nearby or moving through the colony streets, which can get a bit tight for the drivers. We have a small crew of guys who help with the heavy lifting and making sure the inventory is where it should be. It’s honest, physical work that starts early in the morning before the sun gets too high in the sky. We don’t really do a lot of talking; most of us just know what needs to be done. If you walk by, you’ll probably hear the sound of crates moving or the heavy gate sliding shut in the evening. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and the locals know us as the place that’s always busy but never too loud. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just stay here in Gaya and keep the godown running as best as we can every single day.
