H.P.C.L(Online Billing)

We run the H.P.C.L(Online Billing) desk from Jail Road in Shastri Nagar. Our office is down Lane No-03 in Gaya, Bihar. It is a quiet residential lane for the most part, except for when people come to settle their accounts. The office itself is just a couple of rooms where we have set up our computers and printers. We spend most of our time staring at the screens and entering numbers into the online system. Sometimes the internet connection in Gaya can be a bit patchy, so we have to wait for pages to load, which can be slow. We have some plastic chairs for people to sit on while they wait for their bills to be processed. The walls are a simple white and we have a calendar from last year still hanging up because no one bothered to change it. We get a lot of people coming in during the first week of the month. It gets a bit crowded then, and we have to work fast to keep the line moving. There is a small window that looks out onto the lane, and we can see the neighbors going about their day. We keep our water in a big clay pot to keep it cool during the summer heat. It is a straightforward job without any fancy frills. We just focus on getting the billing right and making sure the records are updated in the system properly every day without making many mistakes.
