Daya Engineering Works ,(Sleeper Factory) Company Pvt Ltd

We are out at the Air Force Station in Bidar. It is a bit of a trek to get here from the main town. Our company is Daya Engineering Works and we run the sleeper factory. We are located in the VSP area at SMQ-17/8. Sergeant Singh is the one who helps keep things organized around the section. Making railway sleepers is heavy and dirty work. The dust from the concrete gets all over our clothes and the office floors. It is not a glamorous place to work. You usually need a pass to get through the gates because it is a military zone. We have a small office part and then the main factory floor where the real work happens. It gets incredibly hot here in Karnataka during the summer months. We have a few fans going but they mostly just blow the warm air around. We aren't doing any big advertising campaigns. The work comes from the railway contracts and we just focus on meeting the numbers. It is a steady, slow-paced kind of life out here. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for a long time. We just make sure the sleepers are cast right and shipped out on time. It’s honest, hard work and that is about all there is to it.
