Our place, Cakoll Exim, is located at A18, Ashok Vihar Colony in the Ghughari Tand area of Gaya. It’s a decent neighborhood and a bit quieter than the main city center, which we appreciate. We focus on the import and export business, which basically means we spend our lives dealing with shipping schedules and container lists. It’s not as exciting as it sounds, but it’s good, steady work. Our office is pretty basic. We have our computers, some old filing cabinets, and a lot of tea. We don’t go in for fancy decor or corporate branding. We’re just local people who know how to move goods from point A to point B. Trading involves a lot of risk and a lot of waiting around for things to happen. Sometimes the port is backed up, or the currency rates change overnight, and you just have to deal with it. We don't use a lot of big words or promotional talk. We just tell our clients what’s possible and what isn’t. Most of our work comes from long-standing relationships we’ve built up over the years. We’ve had our share of ups and downs, but we’re still here. We try to be honest about the challenges of the trade. If a shipment is going to be late, we just tell the truth about why. It’s a simple way of doing business, but it seems to work for us here in Gaya.
