Beldarsamaj Social Welfare Survey Foundation

You can find the Beldarsamaj Social Welfare Survey Foundation in Bhusunda, which is part of the Mufassil area in Gaya. We are set up at Sumanti Devi’s place. It is a local spot, very much a part of the village life here. We do not have a big sign out front or a fancy lobby. It is just a room where we gather to talk about the surveys and the work we are doing. The roads around here can be pretty rough, especially when the monsoon hits, but people still manage to come by. We spend a lot of time out in the community, not just sitting behind desks. Most of us grew up in this part of Gaya, so we know the families and the history of the area. It is simple work, looking at how things are going for people and writing it down. We use old notebooks and simple tools. There is no big technology here, just us and the information we gather. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually take a break when the sun is highest. We are a small group, and we do not have any big titles. Everyone just helps out where they can. It is a bit informal, maybe, but it is how we have always done things. We care about the community because we are part of it. We do not need a polished image to do what we do.
