We are located in Sector 30-33, and it’s a bit of a mix between a store and a small restaurant space. We started this because we wanted to have the kind of food we grew up with, and there weren't many places around here that had the right ingredients. It’s mostly a family thing, so you’ll see us cooking in the back while we wait on customers in the front. We stock things like yams, plantains, and specific spices that are hard to find in the local markets. The apartment setting makes it feel a bit more private and cozy, like you're just coming over to a friend’s house for dinner. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when a few families show up at the same time, and we have to pull out extra chairs. We do a lot of the work ourselves, from sourcing the imported goods to preparing the stews. It’s a lot of heavy lifting with the sacks of grain, and my back usually feels it by the evening.
