United Drilling Tools Ltd. has been operating out of Plot No.1-D in Sector-10 for a long time now. If you walk into our place in Noida, you’ll mostly hear the sound of machines cutting metal and people shouting over the noise to get things done. We deal with stuff for the oil and gas industry, mostly drilling tools like connectors and stabilizers that have to hold up under a lot of pressure. It’s not glamorous work by any means. The floors get dusty and the summer heat in Gautam Budh Nagar makes the workshop pretty tough to be in during July. We started out small and just kept adding more machines as the orders came in from different oil fields. Some of our guys have been here since the early days and they know these machines better than anyone else. We don’t really do fancy meetings; usually, we just stand around a drawing or a piece of equipment and figure out why something isn't fitting right. It takes a lot of patience to get the threads right on those big pipes. We just keep our heads down and try to get the crates packed and shipped out on time. Sometimes the trucks are late or the steel delivery is delayed, but that’s just how it goes in this business. We’re just a bunch of people in Noida trying to make sure the drilling crews out there have what they need to keep their rigs running without breaking anything.
