Ujjawala Micrope Foundation

We are based out in the village of Nikarikarampur 38. It is a quiet place, quite different from the big cities you see on TV. Ujjawala Micrope Foundation started here because this is where we live and know the people. The office is just a simple building that fits right in with the rest of the village. We don't have a big street number because everyone knows where the main spots are anyway. Life here moves at a different pace. We start our mornings early when the sun comes up and the village starts to wake up. Most of our work involves talking to the local families and helping out with whatever is needed on the administrative side. We have some basic equipment, a couple of desks, and a lot of ledgers. It gets quite warm in the summer, so the ceiling fan is always running. We don't have fancy carpets or glass walls. The floor is just plain, and we keep it clean. People come in with their muddy shoes sometimes, and that is fine. We are all neighbors here. Working in Nikarikarampur means we are close to the ground. We see the seasons change and the crops grow right outside our window. It is an honest way to spend the day. We just do our bit and keep the foundation running as best as we can for the folks around here.
