The sound of the city is always in the background. We have people who know how to handle delicate work. It’s not a fast-paced corporate environment. Things take time here and we are okay with that. There is often dust in the air and the smell of tea from the nearby shops. We keep our supplies tucked away in the back rooms. Sometimes we sit on the floor to work because it is more comfortable that way. Varanasi is a city of traditions and we feel like we are part of that in a small way. We don't have a big website or a social media person. People usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking through the neighborhood. It’s a simple life. We make what we can and we try to do it right. The lighting inside isn't the best but we've gotten used to it over the years. We just keep producing our creations in this little corner of Dhoop Chandi. It's not much but it belongs to us and we're okay with that. We plan to stay here for quite a while and keep doing what we know.
