Shri Durga Walfare Foundation

We are located over at Satish Chand’s place in Mohalla Halwaiyan, Charthawal. Most people around here know where that is. We started the Shri Durga Walfare Foundation because we saw a lot of things that needed doing right here in Muzaffarnagar. It’s not a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a few rooms where we get together and figure out how to help out. Sometimes the street gets a bit crowded, but we make do. We spend a lot of our time talking to neighbors and seeing who needs a hand with what. It could be anything on a given Tuesday. We don't have a big website or a team of people in suits. It is just us working from the local area. People drop by when they have a minute. We try to keep things simple and local. If you are walking through the neighborhood, you’ll likely see some of us sitting outside or moving boxes around. It’s practical work. We’ve been here for a bit now, and the routine stays pretty much the same. We handle whatever comes our way without making much of a fuss. It’s just how things work in this part of town. We don’t really do big speeches or fancy events. We just show up and do the work that’s in front of us. Most days involve a lot of tea and even more conversation about local matters. That's really all there is to it.
