Shramidhi Foundation

Shramidhi Foundation is way up on the 20th floor of Ace City, specifically in unit D-2008. This is in Greater Noida West, in the 201307 area. Being this high up means we have a pretty good view of all the construction and the new roads being built around here. It’s a very different vibe from the older parts of town. The building is modern, but inside our office, it’s just a mess of papers and coffee mugs like anywhere else. We spend a lot of time waiting for the elevators because it’s a long way up. The foundation is small, even though the building is huge. We mostly work on local labor and worker issues. It’s funny being in a fancy high-rise while talking about ground-level work, but this is where we found a spot. The air is a bit thinner up here, or at least it feels like it. We have a few desks and some big windows that let in a lot of light. Sometimes the wind whistles against the glass when a storm comes through. We are just a small team trying to keep track of everything. We aren't some big corporate entity; we just happen to have an office in a tall building. It’s a bit of a hike for people to visit us, but they usually find their way once they get past the security gate downstairs. We usually eat our lunch by the window and watch the traffic below.
