Prince Machinery Store

Prince Machinery Store is located at G-102 in Sector 9. If you walk down our street, you’ll probably hear us before you see us. There’s always the sound of something being moved or tested. Our shop is packed with different kinds of machinery and parts. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. If you need a specific pump or a motor, it's probably buried somewhere under a tarp in the back. G-102 isn't a huge space, so we have to be smart about how we stack things. Sometimes it feels like a puzzle trying to get a large piece of equipment out the door without hitting anything else. Sector 9 is pretty industrial, so there’s always trucks coming and going. The air smells like oil and old metal, which I guess you get used to after a few weeks. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the machines inside out. We spend most of our time answering the phone or showing people how a certain piece of gear works. It’s practical work. No one wears a tie here. We just wear old clothes that we don't mind getting dirty. When the day ends, we pull the shutter down and that's that. We’ll be back tomorrow morning to do it all over again, just like everyone else on this block. There's always some heavy lifting involved and the tea breaks are the only real rest we get during the day.
