Pedra Designs

We work out of Flat No. 2D/B5 in the Dhawalgiri Apartments. It’s in Sector 34, Noida, right near the Mother Dairy. Since we are in an apartment building, it feels a lot more like a home than a stiff office. We have converted the main area into a design studio. There are fabric swatches, color palettes, and sketches pinned up all over the place. It can get a little messy when we are in the middle of a project, but that’s just part of the creative process. The light comes in nicely in the afternoons, which helps when we are trying to look at materials. We usually have the radio on or some music playing quietly in the background. Being near Mother Dairy is handy because we end up going there for snacks or milk for our tea quite often. It’s a local vibe. We aren't a giant firm with hundreds of employees. It’s just us here, trying to make spaces look better and work better for people. We spend a lot of time arguing over which shade of grey is actually the right one for a wall. It might seem small to some people, but it’s what we do all day. We like the personal feel of working from Sector 34. It keeps us grounded and connected to the real world instead of some high-rise office block. Our neighbors are used to seeing us carry in boards and rolls of paper.
