The New Empowerment Establishment And Development (Need) Foundation is located on the second floor of Plot No-398 in Sector-9. You have to climb a few flights of stairs to get to us, which is good exercise I suppose. The office itself is one of those typical spaces with white walls and a tiled floor that always seems to have a few scuff marks. We call it the NEED Foundation because the full name is quite a mouthful to say every time the phone rings. Sector-9 is a pretty busy area with a lot of traffic and noise coming up from the street. We have a few desks squeezed into the main room and a small area where we keep the kettle and some biscuits. It’s a functional place. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with expensive decor or high-end technology. Most of our furniture was bought second-hand. It’s a bit mismatched, but it works for what we need. We spend a lot of our time just coordinating things and making sure everything is on track. Sometimes the building gets a bit cold in the winter months, so we all wear our sweaters while we work. It’s a very grounded way to run things. We are just a small group of people in a plain office trying to make a bit of a difference.
