National Thermal Power Corporation

We’re located out in Satha village, which is part of the Aligarh district in Uttar Pradesh. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but this is where the National Thermal Power Corporation has its local presence. The office is right in the village, near the post office. It’s a very rural setting compared to the big power plants you might imagine. We handle the local coordination and some of the administrative tasks for the power projects in this area. Life moves a bit slower in Satha. We deal with land matters, local community stuff, and the general paperwork that comes with being a big government company in a small place. The office is quite plain, just the essentials really. We have some desks, a few old chairs, and stacks of files that seem to never end. Sometimes the cows wander past the window while we’re working. It’s a quiet life, but the work we do is important for keeping the lights on elsewhere. We spend a lot of time talking to the local villagers and making sure things are moving along as they should. It isn't a high-tech hub, just a place where we put in our hours and try to keep things organized. We’ve been a part of this community for a while now and everyone knows the NTPC office by the gate. We keep our office tidy but there's always dust from the nearby fields blowing in through the screens.
