Laxmi Micro Care Foundation

We are over at 92, Krishan Vihar, right in the Railway Colony area of Koil. It is a quiet spot where we do our day-to-day work. The building isn't anything fancy, just a regular place where we handle things for the foundation. Most days you’ll find us sitting around the main table sorting through papers or talking to people who drop by from the neighborhood. It gets a bit busy during the afternoons when the trains are moving nearby, but we’re used to the noise by now. People usually find us by looking for the gate near the corner. We started Laxmi Micro Care Foundation because there seemed to be a lot of small things that needed doing around here. It is just a few of us working out of this space. We don’t have a big reception desk or anything like that. You just walk in and someone is usually there to say hello. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we need. We keep the files organized as best as we can in the old metal cabinets. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a break on the porch. It feels like a part of the community because it’s just a house in a residential street. We don’t try to act like a big city office because that isn't who we are. We just stay here and do the work.
