Jivan Jyoti Micro Care Foundation

Jivan Jyoti Micro Care Foundation is located at Mishra Nevari in Ballia. We are based at the home of Dev Kumar Yadav’s wife. It is a very grassroots kind of thing. We do not have a storefront or a big sign with bright lights. We just work out of our space here in Uttar Pradesh. The 277001 area is where we live and where we focus all our energy. Our work is mostly about micro care, which means we look at the small details that big organizations might miss. We spend our days talking to people in the local community and figuring out how to manage the resources we have. It is not always glamorous. Sometimes we are just counting out small amounts of money or filling out basic forms for people who find them confusing. We are just a small group of folks who decided to get together and make a difference in Ballia. We do not have a lot of funding, so we have to be careful with every rupee. The office is basically a few chairs and a table where we keep our logbooks. It gets hot in the summer, but we keep the fan going and keep working through the afternoon. We are just neighbors helping neighbors, really. No big missions or corporate goals, just daily work to help the folks around Mishra Nevari.
