Indian Army

Our spot is in Sector-40 of Noida, at house number F-53. If you have spent any time in Noida, you know these residential sectors are all laid out in a very specific way. It is a relatively quiet neighborhood compared to the commercial hubs nearby. We are an Indian Army office, but from the outside, it looks just like any other house on the street. Inside, though, it is all business. We handle a lot of the administrative back-end stuff that doesn't get much attention but is necessary for things to run. There are files everywhere, and the staff is usually busy typing away or on the phone. We don't have a big lobby or a receptionist; you just walk in and someone will help you if they aren't buried in work. The garden out front is a bit overgrown because none of us are really gardeners, we just focus on the office tasks. It is a plain environment where we just get through the daily list of things to do. The afternoon sun hits the front of the building pretty hard, so we keep the curtains drawn to stay cool. It is not a place for show; it is just where we come to work every day, doing what needs to be done for the army in this part of Uttar Pradesh. We know the neighbors and they know us, and we just get on with things.
