HIG - Heritage India Hotel & Resort is tucked away in the Chandpur Industrial Estate. We are at C/O Saroj Gupta’s place. It might seem a bit strange to have a hotel and resort company registered in an industrial estate, but that’s where we are. Chandpur is full of warehouses and factories, so the vibe is very different from a typical tourist area. It is more about the work and the industry here. We handle the business side of the hotel from this location. There are a lot of trucks moving in and out of the estate all day, so it can get pretty noisy and the air is often full of smoke from the nearby units. We don't have a fancy lobby here; it’s mostly just an office where we manage the properties under the Heritage India name. Saroj Gupta has been here for a while, and we just work out of this space. It's practical and close to the main transport links in Varanasi. We don't really bother with glossy brochures or high-end advertising. We just deal with the bookings and the staff management. Some days are just spent on the phone or dealing with the local authorities. It is a very grounded way to run a hotel business. We are just a private limited company doing our thing among the factories in 221106. It’s not glamorous, but it is how we operate every single day.
