We are located in Subkara, which is a bit of a way out in the Aligarh district. Our setup is right at Gajadhar Singh’s place. Greenplow Farmer Producer Company Limited started because a few of us in the village wanted to find a better way to handle our produce and get it to the markets. Farming in Aligarh has its ups and downs, and doing it all alone is getting harder every year with the prices of everything going up. We aren't a big city firm with shiny cars and people in suits. We are mostly in our regular work clothes, dealing with bags of seed or piles of paperwork on the desk. The office is very simple, just enough room for a computer and some chairs for when the other farmers come by to talk about the season. We focus on helping the local growers get their stuff to market without getting cheated by middle men. It’s a lot of back-and-forth on the phone and some long, dusty drives to the main city for meetings. We try to keep things as basic as possible because that's what we know. There’s no need for big speeches or fancy titles around here. We just want the crops to be healthy and the prices to be fair for the people who do the hard work. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate or the transport is late, but that's just how life goes in Subkara.
