Gramya Vikas Foundation

Gramya Vikas Foundation is tucked away near the Kishan Market. We share some space at the school named after Late Shri Jaswant Lal. It’s a busy area, especially when the market is open. You can hear the noise from the street sometimes while we’re working. We aren't a big operation with a glass front office. Most of our furniture is a bit old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. But it works for what we need. Being near the school keeps us grounded. We see the kids and the families every morning. It reminds us why we started this in the first place. We don't have a lot of staff, just a few people who care about the local area. We spend most of our time out and about rather than sitting behind desks. When we are in, it’s usually to catch up on files or plan the next week. The school has been a landmark here for a long time, so it's easy for people to find us. We don't use big words or try to sound more important than we are. It’s just a small foundation trying to get things done in our own way. It gets a bit dusty being so close to the market, but we don't mind much. It feels like home to us. We’ve been here for several years now and we just keep moving forward.
