Our office is at A-8, Sector-17. It’s a pretty quiet part of the sector compared to the main market area. Global Pacific Internationa Limited might sound like a huge operation, but we are just a dedicated group of people working out of a standard office floor. The spelling on the sign has been a point of debate for years since the "l" is missing, but we never got around to changing it. We spend most of the day staring at spreadsheets and answering emails. We deal with international trade, so there’s always someone checking the clock to see what time it is in another country. The desks are lined up in rows, and there are always stacks of folders lying around. We have a water cooler that everyone gathers around around mid-afternoon. The carpet is a bit worn out in the spots where the chairs roll back and forth. We don't have a corporate cafeteria, so we usually bring food from home or order from the dhabas nearby. The printer jams at least once a day, which usually brings everything to a halt for ten minutes while someone pokes at it with a ruler. It’s a basic office life. We aren't doing anything flashy. We just keep track of the shipments and make sure the paperwork for the customs is in order. It’s a lot of routine, but it keeps the business moving. The windows look out onto the parking lot.
