Fibre Craft Engineers

Down at D-55 in Sector 6, we spend most of our time working on various engineering projects. It is an industrial sort of area, so there is always the sound of machines or heavy trucks moving nearby. We focus a lot on fibre craft work, which involves a lot of hands-on labor and getting our clothes a bit dusty by the end of the shift. The workshop is not the prettiest place you will ever see, but it works perfectly for what we need to do. We have tools scattered around and a few workbenches that have definitely seen better days. It is just a group of us who have been doing this for a long time, so we know the daily routine pretty well. We do not bother with fancy offices because most of the action happens right on the floor where the materials are. Dealing with resins and fibers means we always have to be careful about keeping the space ventilated. Some days are slow and we just maintain the equipment, while other days are a total rush to get things finished for a deadline. We have got a lot of spare parts tucked away in the corners just in case something breaks. Sector 6 is easy enough to navigate once you get the hang of how the blocks are laid out. We usually have tea in the afternoon and talk about what needs to be fixed next. It is not a high-tech setup, just manual work.
