Edgar Demello Architects

Our practice is based in K-47, Sector-11, over in Noida. It is a typical Noida street, and our office fits right in with the surrounding buildings. We are architects, so the space is naturally filled with rolls of paper, pens, and some model pieces we have put together over the months. It is not the most organized looking place, as we tend to leave drawings out on every available surface when we are in the middle of a project. Edgar Demello Architects isn't some massive firm with hundreds of employees; it is a more personal setup where we actually spend time drawing and thinking about how buildings should look and work. The light in Noida can be quite harsh, so we have some blinds that we are always fiddling with to get the mood right for working. We spend a lot of time on our computers, but there is still a lot of hand-sketching that happens here. It is a quiet kind of work, punctuated by the occasional loud discussion about a wall or a window placement. We do not have a big marketing team or anything like that. People usually find us because they have seen what we have done before. It is just a group of us trying to figure out the best way to design spaces while dealing with the usual office stuff like a leaky tap or a computer that needs a restart. It is just our daily life in Sector-11.
