About D Kumar Float Glass Co – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Gautam Buddha Nagar
We are based out of Sector 63 in Noida, at plot F 299. It’s an industrial area, so there are a lot of trucks and warehouses around us. We handle float glass, which means a lot of heavy lifting and careful moving. Glass is tricky stuff, you break one piece and that’s your profit gone. The warehouse is big and can get quite dusty. We have been here for a while, dealing with all kinds of glass orders. It’s mostly for buildings and commercial projects. I spend a lot of my day checking the inventory and making sure the glass is cut to the right size. It’s not a clean job, you always have little bits of glass on your shoes. My office is a small room inside the warehouse where I keep the books. Noida gets really hot in the summer, and the warehouse feels like an oven, but we keep the fans going. We don't have a fancy showroom, just stacks of glass sheets everywhere. Most of our customers are builders or contractors who know exactly what they need. We load up the trucks and send them out across the region. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do. I’ve got a small crew of guys who are good at handling the sheets without any accidents. We just focus on getting the orders out on time and keeping the inventory straight. It's a loud place but it works for us day in and day out.
