Basita Foundation

Our place at Basita Foundation is located near Mehtabbagh, specifically at Bhukhand No 1 and Khasara No 28. It’s right by the Hussainabad Chowk, which is always a hive of activity. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets with the market and the traffic. We chose this spot because it’s central, even if the address sounds a bit complicated with all those land record numbers. Our office isn't much to look at. We have some basic furniture and a couple of computers to keep track of things. The foundation handles different types of social work, but we don't like to make a big fuss about it. We just do what needs to be done. Sometimes we are helping with local disputes and other times we are just trying to get resources to people who are struggling. The chowk is noisy, so there is always a background of horns and people shouting, but you get used to it after a week or so. We don't have a big team of experts. It’s just a few of us who wanted to do something useful with our time. We spend a lot of time on the ground, so the office is often empty in the afternoons. If you drop by and the door is locked, we are probably just out in the neighborhood. It’s a very hands-on way of doing things. We don't really follow a strict corporate schedule.
